Climate Action for Peace
Water shortages, disasters and limited food due to bad harvests — these are just some of the climate change issues that are causing conflict in communities around the world.
With the help of this resource, you and your congregation will dive into how Christians are called to be stewards of our land and help bring peace to our neighbors near and far. This resource will also encourage your congregation to:
- Reflect on the realities of climate change
- Renew your hope of a future where a true and just peace is a reality
- Get inspired to take climate action to help bring about peace
The International Day of Peace happens on September 21, and many congregations will observe Peace Sunday on September 24, 2023. In Canada, Mennonite Central Committee also encourages churches to observe Peace Sunday on November 12, 2023, right after Remembrance Day. Of course, your congregation can use these materials at any time of year to build a service on the themes of climate and peace.
To help you create a reflective service that will inspire hope and action, fill out the form below to get your Climate Action for Peace packet.
