Join MCC and the Kingdom Builders Network (KBN) this Martin Luther King Jr. Day for a powerful day of celebration and service. Together, we will honor Dr. King’s enduring legacy and the transformative vision he championed: the "Beloved Community." Dr. King envisioned a society fully integrated, rooted in love, justice and unity—a place where brotherhood and equality thrive in every aspect of life. Come be part of this inspiring day as we reflect, serve, and build toward this shared dream.

Our event will feature a panel of community leaders who will discuss practical steps toward building this community and our role in it.

This in-person event will be livestreamed. Please register and we'll send you the livestream link prior to the event.

Doors will open at 9 a.m., and the program will begin at 9:30 a.m.

At the event you will...
  • Celebrate Martin Luther King Jr.'s legacy of peace and justice through music and spoken word.
  • Learn practical steps towards building beloved community through a panel discussion and Q&A.
  • Serve by assembling care kits for those incarcerated to meet their needs and restore hope and dignity in a place that often seems hopeless.

In his art, John Lewis works with form, narrative and symbolic elements. He sees each of these factors as having an emergent quality that comes to the forefront of the art, each in its time and in its own way.

He attended the Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art from 1994 to 1996 in New York City, where he studied drawing, painting and sculpture. Yvonne's contribution to criminal justice reform is selfless. Not only does she fight for the freedom of her daughter, but also for the countless men and women serving death by incarceration sentences. Ms. Yvonne retired after thirty-one years of service at Pennsylvania University Hospital.  Her many contributions can be demonstrated in her work with grassroots organizations such as the Coalition to Abolish Death By Incarceration (CADBI), Pennsylvania Prison Society, and Human Rights Coalition (HRC) to name a few. Yvonne is a co-partner of the Freedom Dog Fund a fund that helps lifers access basic necessities through commissary support.
